Dele was a semi-professional footballer in his 'glory days', and can frequently be spotted after work at Shoreditch PowerLeague.
If he wasn't in this line of work, he'd love to be a school teacher (and still believes this is where he'll end up at the end of his career).
Dele is an Associate on the investment team and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities. He is particularly interested in product-first companies that enhance the way we live, play and work. This leads him through the world of innovative B2C products & services, as well as the underlying infrastructure that makes their existence possible. He is fixated on the positive role technology can play in empowering individuals and improving quality of life.
Prior to joining MMC, Dele led early-stage teams in emerging markets, first managing Operations in a Rocket Internet-backed travel business in South-East Asia before running a retail chain in Nigeria. After gaining this operational experience Dele moved back to London, spending 2 years at the Boston Consulting Group where he worked on big data, analytics and strategy engagements for Consumer & Retail clients.
Dele is a self-confessed ‘runaway medic’ - having completed a Medicine degree at King's College London, he chose not to practice in pursuit of a different path. He recently spent four months on secondment in the Growth team at MMC portfolio company, Gousto.
Dele shares his path to venture on the Associated podcast.
