A huge congratulations to Chris McCann and the entire Current Health team on the announcement that they will be partnering with Best Buy to deliver safe, effective healthcare in the home at scale.

MMC has backed Current Health since its Seed raise in 2018 and led its Series A round in 2019. We’re incredibly proud of the business that this team has built, beginning as an Edinburgh-based startup and scaling to become a global player providing healthcare in the home.

At the time of the Series A, MMC Managing Partner, Bruce Macfarlane had this to say of the team:

Healthcare is undergoing a paradigm shift from reactive, in-hospital treatment to proactive, community-based care… Reliable, continuous patient monitoring enables earlier intervention in the event of patient deterioration, a better experience for patients and fewer unnecessary hospital re-admissions. With its world-class team and platform, Current Health has the right fundamentals to execute on a vast opportunity and become a global category leader in this important market.

BRUCE MACFARLANEMANAGING PARTNER, MMC

Healthcare is still in a state of profound change, perhaps never more so given the stresses of the pandemic placed on an already precarious system.

We believe that patient care in the home is absolutely the future of affordable healthcare. This is why we’re excited to see Current Health partner with Best Buy, its unparalleled physical reach and world-class supply chain logistics will help drive the delivery of safe, effective healthcare in the home at scale.
